CBC Plans a 10-Part Series on Divorce

Earlier this week, the CBC contacted Divorce Magazine for some assistance with the content and contacts for a 10-part series they are planning to produce.  Based on my conversation with the CBC representative, this series appears to have the makings of an interesting and in-depth look into divorce. The information provided to me suggests that their wish is  to cover these topics:

  • The impact of divorce on productivity in the workplace, on the home front, the impact of loss of friends
  • The reasons for divorce and the impact of adultery
  • What changes are being made on various fronts, including the family courts
  • Why divorce rates differ from province to province
  • How is divorce different within various cultural communities
  • What are various options to consider when divorce is imminent – mediation, collaborative divorce, counseling

One year ago, a documentary entitled “How to Divorce Without Wrecking the Kids” aired nationally on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). That show explored how a few couples use alternatives to litigation for their divorce.

At Divorce Magazine, we are pleased to see such productions as they help to educate people who are going through divorce on their options, and help to educate friends and families of those going through a separation and divorce on how to show compassion and support. Our mission for the past 14 years,  has been to encourage peaceful and civilized divorce. We are pleased to see, over the years,  more and more media coverage on the subject of divorce and most of them have been educational.
